The Red Wing was built back in the 1940’s by Charles McMillan. The Restaurant was built as a house where they lived and opened February of 1948. The Wooden building faced in stone has been a popular gathering place for locals since 1948. Don’t be put off by the location or the outside – it’s what’s inside that counts.

If the walls could talk they just might give you the history of Groveland. Upon entering there is a bar with paneled walls with stuffed birds and animals hanging on the walls. Off to the left is the “Pheasant Room” and to the right the “Boar Room”. which makes it feel of an old hunting lodge.

The menu is unique to say the least. They offer a wide variety of hand cut steaks, fresh fish & game meat. In our opinion they have the BEST Cobbler in town and people travel miles just for this treat.

For those looking for ‘different’ try the gator bites or (when in season) the elk.

Simple table layout and down to earth styling add to the feeling of dining with friends. Judge them by their food!
